So No Man's Sky is out in the wild (on PS4, PC soon) and Houston has a problem...or something like that. According to reddit, people are encountering a variety of bugs.
One annoying one is that players that pre-ordered the game to get the ship with the enhanced hyperdrive are finding themselves stranded if they venture out too far before getting the required blueprints to transfer to another ship. However, users are reporting that if you stick with the pre-order ship, after two jumps the game will direct to the required blueprints so that everything works fine. So if you're just getting started, keep that in mind.
Two other users reported that they attempted to rendezvous with each other on the same planet at the same time only to find out that the planets differed slightly and that there was no evidence that other users were even around. As a player of Elite Dangerous, I do recall instancing issues among players that would be in the same location yet invisible to friends or other players. Hopefully it's just a bug and not an underlying design flaw of No Man's Sky.
We'll soon see if the PC version suffers from the same issues or if the extended delay fixes them before release. Without Sony involved on the PC release, Hello Games may have more freedom to get things fixed without the pressure of a big(ger) release. They definitely have the passion.
